Motorhomes wintering on the algarve ?
 

Just a thought - we've been back in UK ten days now, but as usual there were thousands of Motorhome campers dotted around the usual places enjoying the winter sun. Invariably they tend to be Dutch registrations, followed by Germans, French and Scandinavian countries. I'm curious to know whether they have vacated and legged it back home, decided to stay, or been impounded compulsorily. Is this regarded as discretionary travel or essential travel. Do the Police allow them to move I wonder ? Could be a seriously sticky situation for these people I'm thinking. Any thoughts ?

They have been given special dispensation to cross both the PT/ES and ES/FR borders in order to go home.

Thanks for that. It's good to know they can get home. Under normal circumstances I'd be quite happy to get stuck down there for a month or more, but not with all the bars and resto's closing. Not much fun for anyone then being confined to your holiday home.

The Camper Van sites have all been closed in Spain. Our French friends drove home on Tuesday.

Thanks, ElizabethAnn. It had never occurred to me that the camping grounds would ever be closed. I guess the rough campers have been told to move on as well. This is life, but NOT as we know it !!

Quick question. The post office in Ayamonte is open purchased stamps there Saturday. Does anyone know for sure that the postal service is operating, are letters being delivered in Ayamonte/Costa Esuri. Is the post box on Esuri being emptied?

Yes, I've seen Correos staff delivering house to house.
