I guess the charge on the meter between e.g Las Colinas and the ME gate is about 2-3€.

We pick up at the ME gate directly on the roadside direction on the way out, where he starts the meter. We drop off on the other side, and cross the road by foot to our gate.

We probably have the shortest distance to town from CE (except the Sun and Sand development).

So it seems like we can get another couple of drinks in cost wise!
