Default Ideas for kids Home Ed

Hi

I home educate my 3 kids. We are over for 4 weeks over Christmas. We have done usual stuff locally and we can learn anywhere so its easy but i was wondering if anyone has seen any great local classes or things to do that would fit in while we are over. Experiences, classes, walks anything really on top of the norm.

Thanks!
Sarah

Thank you. We have done those. All great ideas. We haven't done that much beyond Castro Marim so maybe we should look that way? I am hoping to find Spanish lessons as well. The language school on the hill doesn't do spanish for kids.

Have you done The Visitors Centre Castro Marim, the audio visual you can watch is very informative of the area. The Nature Reserve Castro Marim has lots of information in the visitors centre plus the birdwatching and walks. In VRSA the sardine museum.
Rio Formosa Nature park Portugal was interesting to walk round, a boat trip to Carmona Island also.

El Dolman de Soto and the Ruta de Dolman might be worth checking out. São Lourenço Church Almancil is interesting if you are passing that way.

In Huelva there is the Victorian Village, Barrio Reina Victoria
Barrio and Botanical Gardens. .

Aracena has
The Gruta de las Maravillas and fabulous tapas.

Have you visited Mertola on the Portuguese side of the Guadiana, about an hour up the road going to Beja. It has several small museums relating to its Roman and Moorish history, including excavations under the town hall. Also a castle dating back to the Reconquista. Cobbled streets and fine views. Don't go on a Monday, as museums closed.
