Default House insurance

Hello. I have just bought a property in Ayamonte and I am not sure how to go about getting house insurance.
Does anyone have recommendations or have a rough idea of the costs?
Thank you

We're in Costa Esuri, on Vista.
Ours is a 1st floor 2 bed/2 bathroom apartment, we use intasure, and renewed in Feb' 2017 for £268 for Buildings & Contents.
This has been creeping up in recent years, and i'm sure you could find cheaper, but been with them a while so a little reluctant to change.
Always worth shopping around though.

Don´t know how old your property is, but beware if older than around 100 years. Most companies won´t touch it, or will only insure with some strict provisos and restrictions. We are with Santander, who are happy to insure our 400 year old house, buildings and contents, with no restrictions.

Won't give exact sum, but very large house, 300m2, around 500 euros. Much more than other companies, but we couldn't go with others as too many exclusions because of age. Also, we have had to claim and it was trouble free and money in our account immediately after assessor came.

Just a thought. If you are insuring the home as a second residence, make sure the insurers know that it could be empty for a lot of the time.

This way they will insure correctly & you wont fall foul of the small print
