Re: Astronomy fans?
Simple I was driving along the A52 towards Nottingham many years ago when a bright light appeared in the sky.
We originally thought it was an aircraft approaching East Midlands Airport until we realised it was stationary.
After a very brief period it took off to the South East at an extremely fast speed and was reported all the way to Germany within a 5 minute period.
It was never identified by any agency although there were many reported sightings.
Was it little green men from mars? I doubt it.
We had a very busy weekend in Norfolk and didn't really think about it until we returned home late Sunday and then read the Monday morning newspapers.
But it was never identified so it was therefore an Unidentified Flying Object UFO.

Re: Astronomy fans?
I hope Fred wasnt 'probed' There's a bad joke here that I cant do on the forum!
We saw a HUGE comet once burning up and slowly tracking across the night sky - you could see the mass of it and the flames coming off the back. Excellent!

I was rolling home drunk one night when this unidentified object whizzed past my lugs and crashed to the ground behind me.
I asked the Mrs if she had seen it or knew what it was, but all she said was it could have been a flying saucer,
......but there again it could have been a flying cup.
