Next Melbourne Curry Night

Re: Next Melbourne Curry Night
Hi there
Count us two in, might also bring a couple who've just arrived.
Have heard a good report about Zaika, apparently the Roti Boti wasn't as good as it's reputation.

Re: Next Melbourne Curry Night
I'd love to come but it would cost me too much to get back in a cab, next time then.

Hi Fraser
You could always not have a drink !
Maybe next one can be over your way?

Kim, I haven't been out without the kids for about 9 months, If I do I'll be drinking excessively.

Hi Fraser
In that case then - it will be well deserved!
Your kids are cute but understand a night out without them would be nice, let your hair down! Ooops, it's all cut off now? Give you time to grow it again!

So, if public transport is a requisite, does anyone have any other suggestions?

Re: Next Melbourne Curry Night
Hi
A curry addict from Britvics suggested either Shalima in Bay St Brighton or Indian Palace (prob a bit more expensive) in Church St Brighton - both near train stations.
Shall I suggest they come along and if it's rubbish blame them!
They've got good write ups - if that means anything!

Re: Next Melbourne Curry Night
Precisely why EVERYONE needs to take a turn at organising these things, and not the same folk each time.
We can't make the next Curry Night but we'll aim for the next one Carl.
Cheers,

Re: Next Melbourne Curry Night
Right, went to see both Indian's today.
Indian Palace in Church Street looks expensive, but quality, and more like the English sort of curries that we are used to. It is fairly modern inside without the usual tacky Indian decor. There is a shortage of pubs nearby for an after meal drink, but there is the Moon bar across the street. It is a minutes walk from the train station.
Shalimar in Bay Street is a bit cheaper, but still a bit pricey, again the food looks good, but the tacky decor is there in abundance and in particular, there is a wacky rope cover overhead that was a bit distracting
The Brighton Hotel is a couple of minutes walk down the road and the place itself is 30 seconds from the train station.
So any good, or would people prefer something else?
