Anyone came across a good aussie vodka? hubby drinks Smirnoff & wont even try another brand, back home he says cheaper brands gave him bad overhangs (as our daughter says!) I cant tell the difference as he always has a hangover

As for me my alcohol bill has halved since coming here,i stick to Coolabah, soft & fruity 4litres $12 a weekend.

Donna.

Also, the home brew kits you get from the supermarkets are pretty good too!

As I've said before, I'm a bit of a poofter when it comes to drinks. I like Castlemaine XXXX gold, preferable just above freezing point.

And I like Colombard Chardonnay, but with bottled water added (it's a thing I picked up in Germany, they dilute their wines) you get all the flavour, but not too paralytic. We did tours of vineyards in Germany where the bus driver was knocking back these diluted wines...

Cooper's Pale Ale. The closest thing you can get to readily available real ale in Australia I believe, though I hope not as I like my real ale
