Young Mechanical Engineer Australia

Hi guys,

I took the big step to come out to Australia for a new life. Currently on a working holiday visa and hoping to find sponsorship. I have a Mechanical Engineering degree and having a tough time being noticed by employers. My mum suggested maybe some of you guys will have some contacts that will be more understanding to the position i am in. If anyone has any leads or questions please feel to <snip personal email>

Appreciate all advice.

Engineering is on the list for skilled visas I think. Is your degree recognised by Engineers Australia?

One issue you may face is lack of experience, depending on when you graduated.

I was thinking that. Have you checked if you can qualify for PR without sponsorship from an employer? It would be the best route in the long run.

"Mechanical Engineering" covers quite a very broad scope of things. Have you listed sectors that you would be interested in, such as Maritime, civil engineering or Aviation?

I suggest you research those a bit closer and then apply per sector. Of course your location in Australia also plays a big role as to what's available so being flexible is also important.

Google is a powerful tool here..
