The weather
The fishing
Having "exotic" fruit growing in the garden (paw paw, mandarin, lime, lemon, passion fruit)
Lorikeets in the garden
Being able to live outside for most of the year
Not ever needing a coat
The shorter working day
The laid back approach to life
Four wheel driving on miles and miles of pristine beaches
The fishing
The friendliness of the people
Decent BBQs
The space (in the house, in the yard, everywhere)
Driving to work under blue skies nearly every day
Did I mention the Fishing
Being able to walk around in the middle of winter in shorts and T shirt (and have locals say oooh aren't you cold?)

OLD thread
Hope everyone realises this is old.
Anyway, I thought this one was worth bringing back up!

Well I've been back in Oz for 7 months now, and checking back on what I thought I'd miss, I now realise:
1. The music - Don't miss the music at all. I brought out loads of CD's with all the music I love anyway, and I often check into the Radio 1 website to see what's new, then go to WIN MX and if it's there, I download it so I can listen to it.
2. The Culture - Okay, so I don't really miss London at all. Being back, I've discovered is enough for me to be happy and realise that my heart is wherever my other half and our daughter is.
3. My friends - I miss them like hell. I've found that I'm definitely not socialising like I used to, probably because alot of my old friends here have moved away, or moved on with their lives and alot of them have kids now so are not able to just drop everything to go out for the night. Saying that, I'm making lots of new friends from this site and can't wait for the girlie night out on the 1st May.
4. Snow - Well I've had a change of heart on that one. Got up to go for a walk at 6.30 this morning and it was freezing (7 degrees). It's taken me till now (10.30am) to actually warm up, and that was after having a hot shower, having the heater on full blast in the car when I was driving to work, and sitting millimetres away from the heater at work too. I do love snow, but will be happy to just take our daughter to Lake Mountain or Donna Buang to play once it starts snowing here, or actually skiing on it if we book a ski holiday.
Regards
