Crikey! Doesn't look like they died of natural causes exactly! Any idea what happened??

Re: Yikes!!!
I think they have been run over by cars, they were literally on the side of a road which is one lane so I am thinking a car got them. I did wonder whether the light coloured one got done first (just looks like it's been there a wee bit longer) then maybe the darker one came to have a look - do they eat each other if they come across a dead one does anyone know?

I reckon they are Dugites too Bridie. The lighter one definitely looks like its been run over but the other looks to have a chop mark/slice on its tail, maybe from a shovel ??, so I wonder if maybe there is another injury like that up near its head ??
But then again just found this so could be Western Brown snake

Perhaps one got run over and some workmen killed the other one.... I know they were sorting out the landscaping on that bit recently....
