Default Xray today and meds 11th Nov

Hi everyone,
Just an update of our situation. Kidney specialist has now given us the go ahead to get meds done. Off to Bupa to get xray done at 1pm and meds are booked for 11.11.04. It feels like things are moving again, woohoo. Thanks again for all you offered support when things seemed bleak.
Love and hugs
Sarah

Sarah,
Hope all goes well. Its been a little bumpy for you, but fingers crossed now. Were still waiting to be asked for medicals, so we are going to have them done anyway and send off. Hopefully soon they may come back to us.

Well one down, one to go. All they really seemed concerned about at Bupa was who had the credit card. No I'm not joking. We were told to take a seat and someone would be through to take our money... I was then called for my xray, very few words bra off, wrap arms around here deep breath in, get dressed then go and pay. Andrew was already having his done when I came out, Iwas summoned to desk for credit card. When he came out he asked if I'd paid as he was asked twice when having xray. Was then told things looked ok so we could go. All in all no more than 10 mins in Bupa and a bill of £127.

Sarah,
We were hoping by your timeline, that we would have heard by now, but nothing, so thats why we are going ahead un-requested. Just want to be in the position the hurry things along, when we get the OK from Aus. Yes, we are having to lodge the $100K bond, but we have that already set aside, so don't have to worry about selling the house first. Its amazing how many people have different time lines, even if they have the same jobs. Glad to see Bupa just wanted your money. Going to Bupa tomorrow afternoon, and will expect the same treatment.

Good luck at Bupa. My agent thinks our case officer has been a bit slack in not requesting more info. How much more they want I don't know, we provided nearly everything on the list. Just got to wait and see I guess.

Sarah,
Can you explain what you mean. Why would your agent think your CO has been slack in not requesting more info. I dont know of any other info required. Once your medicals have been sent, its down to bond lodgement etc, and then visa stamp.

Hiya,
Firstly letter from our solicitor concerning Andrew's ex wife (she doesn't have a solicitor anymore so phoned ours in response to med request) says that she doesn't feel that the meds for the children are necessary. She didn't totally refuse. From list of evidence to prove that Andrew and I are in a stable relationship we didn't provide cards or photos as these had been lost by Royal Mail (returned now) and we had no joint purchases in our names, no wills or pensions. Apart from that I provided bank statements from my account showing every payment Andrew had made to me for bills etc and I also sent all our joint account statements. What more they could possibly need I'm not sure, but our agent says she is just covering us by telling us to get extra stuff ready just in case. So if you can shed any light on this then I'd be very grateful. Like you I thought meds request mean we are as good as in.

Hiya,
How did the xrays go? Were they as quick to ask for the money as our Bupa? Yes hopefully our CO will see that we have done everything possible to provide as much info as we can.

Sarah,
In and Out within 30 mins. Bupa are very good but at a price. £76 each. We could have got cheaper, but this hospital was local to us. Told us that they look OK, but will have to wait until tomorrow to collect the written documents. Told my wife i can start smoking again, now i know i'm ok. She was not happy. Weve booked our medicals for the 8th of November, but now we are not sure. Read on Gomatilda website, that DIMIA may refuse any medical and xray forms that have not been sent by them. When they do request, they will send docs anyway, with our CO number written on and date with some sort of official stamp. We were going to get the Dr to keep hold of the medicals until we have been requested, and then write in the CO number
but now not sure if they would except this. Perhpas we wait until we get requested, and re take the x-rays at additional cost. The one good thing for us, was that the X-rays were clear, which means we should get through. It was a worry for us, because i smoked for many years, and this would be the major stumbling block for us. We could get requested shortly or it could take another 6 months. Any advise woould be great. talk soon

You were cheated, lol. Our Bupa only charged £68.50 each. I guess the cost of living is cheaper in Wales. I'm glad they didn't tell Andrew he could start smoking again as we still have the medical to get through. He has been on the patches since 24th Sept, I hope he stays off the cigs it will give me more of an incentive to quit. I'm still secrectly having a puff here and there as I know as soon as the meds are done he will start again. I've just had a very interesting conversation with our cahir of governors. Had to send him an e-mail outling my plans to emigrate so that it can be discussed at next governors meeting. I want my sentence reduced to a months notice, the first thing he said was how much will it save us, pmsl. I think I may be given a reduced sentence on this basis alone.
With regards to your meds our forms came from agent with no case file number of date stamp on them. We filled in case file number.
