coles usually sell some - need to add your own Brandy/rum though to spice them up a bit. Can't help with the make-it-yoruself stuff I'm afraid, but there are some good cooks out there so I'm sure someone can.

Once I unpack my cookbooks I'll see if I can post one of the recipes. Although, I did see them in either Coles or Woolies last week. We bought ours at the home show of all places and it has enough rum in it to drown Captain Morgan himself!!

I grew up in Sydney and we always had homemade christmas pudding although served cold with icecream! You should be able to get suet from your local butcher, its the fat from around the kidneys. You will have to grate it yourselves.
Alternatively you could try a lighter type of pudding like we used to eat, which although still boiled, is more cake-like and easier to eat in 40o heat, alcohol and all.
