Xbox 360
I'm considering purchasing an Xbox 360 but as I will hopefully be migrating to Perth next year I need to know if a UK xbox 360 will work in Oz and be compatible with their games etc?
Does anyone have the answer?
Thanks.

I'm guessing Microsoft are a bit short on them! So they'll supply their important markets first. Which isn't Australia apparently Seems we are right up there with Colombia in Microsofts importance list.
The new Xbox will ship in Australia, Colombia, Hong Kong, Korea, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore and Taiwan sometime in "2006",

Oh, and it may also be a slap on the collective Australian wrist for this court decision:
Ballmer baulks at Oz Xbox chippers charter
Ballmer baulks at Oz Xbox chippers charter
The trigger for Ballmer's (Microsoft CEO) bulletin was an Australian court decision in July where a man who had been selling Playstation 2 mod chips was acquitted. The chips were intended to allow imported games to be played on locally-sold machines. In reaction to this Ballmer said that Microsoft might have to reconsider selling Xbox in Australia, or seek changes in the law.

Well the Xbox 360 is region locked, just the same as the old Xbox.

But if the old Xbox plays UK and Oz games, (see Biggys post) then maybe the Xbox360 will as well. I don't know, I don't have an old xbox.
