Default would you move from Lake Macquarie to Dongara?

Myself, wife and 3 kids have been in Lake Macquarie (Newcastle) for the last 4 months, reasonably settled but still pretty open minded on where to fully settle. I have just been offered a job in WA, Dongara. Dongara is 3 1/2 hours north of Perth on the coast.

Would you make the move (no cost in moving everything over).????

cheers.

In a word - NO.

Lake Macquarie - conveniently placed between Sydney and Newcastle. Lovely scenic area with all facilities known to man within a short distance. Beaches, lakes, reasonably priced housing, shopping malls, good schools, access to University/jobs for the kids when they're older.

Dongara - er - where?

Mmm, I know where it is, really. Population around 3000, one motel, two pubs, closest centre is Geraldton.

Do a search on Geraldton, it's come up a bit before.

Definitely no comparison with Lake Maquarie!

Don't know what Dongara is like so I won't comment.
As far as we are concerned we love it here in the Lake Macquarie/Newcastle area and can't see ourselves moving anywhere else.
Good luck with your decision.

Hmmm there does seem to be an awfully lot of unhappy Brits who settled in WA. Maybe read their posts and see whether the things they are unhappy about might one day pertain to you?

350km from Perth does seem a long way from "civilisation".

I have stayed around Lake Macquarie many times and it's really beautiful and yet accessible to Sydney, which might one day be an important factor for your kids for education, entertainment etc.

We have relies who have a station about 30 mins north of Dongara , its all down to what you want out of life , they love the rural life. I can see the apeal but i guess most townies would not settle .
Up to you if you think you will like a quiter/slower place type of life then go for it.
