Default Worlds Most Dangerous Animals

Did Anyone Watch The Programme On Channel 5 Tonight,"the Worlds Most Dangerous Animals".
I Know Australia Has The Most Lethal Spiders But They Showed A Reconstruction Of A Funnel Web Biting A Baby Girl, thankfully She Survived But It Started Me Imagining All Of These Bloody Stupid Situations That I Could Find Myself In If We Are Lucky Enough To Get Our Visas.
Walking Home Pissed And Having A Leak Behind A Tree And Getting Bit .
Being In The Pool And (i Don't Know If They Can Swim Or Not)and Having One Swim Towards Me,i Swim Like A Brick So Wouldn't Be Able To Get Away.
Go Into The Garage To Find Something On The Floor And As I Stand Up And Turn Around A Bastard Has Climbed Down Its Web And Is At Eye Level With Me.
I Don't Like Spiders And The Biggest One I Have Picked Up In The Uk Was 2" In Diameter,i Think I Am Going To Have To Find A College Course In "the Control Of Ones Sphincter"
I Know That There Are Going To Be The Wind Up Merchants Out There That Are Going To Piss Thereselves With The Thought Of Shitting Me Up Even More, rotten Bastards But Has Anyone Got Anything To Stop Me Acting Like A Big Girlie.what Makes It Worse Is The Rest Of The Family Are The Same As Me,snakes, Crocodiles, sharks And Jellyfish Don't Worry Me It's Just Those Tiny Eight Legged Mothers

I don't want to alarm you any more than you are already, but a guy where I work was brought up in Australia, and he has told me about a white something spider. Can't remember its proper name. It bites, but doesn't sting. The bite will not kill you but the venom starts to rot the flesh. Maybe someone else can shed any more light on the beauty

You would certainly be more at risk on a Friday night out in Nottingham!

We were warned about these spiders when we were in Australia last year. Apparently their population is increasing rapidly and they are causing a lot of problems.

They are called White-tailed Spiders and their bite has some kind of bacterial flesh necrotising component that rots your skin away.

There's some good information here

Have them in NZ too, found them on my pillow, behind my head in the bath, never got bitten, or the kids, but they did jump to squish them. Personally think the flesh eating bit is a bit overated, maybe if you have a immune deficiency.

I believe there is plenty of cross breeding between the 2. A very dangerous animal more prevalent at night time.

We get a lot of them here but unfortunatly the spider catcher is not big enough!!!!!!

Malpjc......I hate spiders but after 6 months here I am getting used to them. They do not chase you around the house or wait for you and pounce!!! Have dealt with some big, harmless ones and that has helped my phobia! By the way - do not bother with the spider catchers you can buy in the UK as they are too small.........

You DO get used to them. AND you learn which ones to kill (cause they could make you feel a little sick) and which ones to leave be (because they eat the other more annoying nasties like mossies and blow flies)

Amazingly, I have learned to walk past a spider and stop to check it out.. red back... squish, no redback.... hubby gets to escort it gently to the door.

It's not NEARLY as bad as those televison shows make it out to be. LOL

Are there any Poms out there that are not affraid of spiders.
l stoped being affraid of spiders when l was 8 years old.
The film spiderman was based on a common deadly Australian Spider, that when it bites you it injects you with its DNA turning you into half human half spider.

That's why we get spiders to wait for people at the airport; to reassure them everything will be OK and everything they've heard is bollocks. A PR exercise, if you will.

When you get bitten by one does it make you overuse your caps lock?
