Working For Yourself??????

WIFE IS A QUALIFIED HOLISTIC THERAPIST( AROMATHERAPY,REFLEXOLOGY.BODY MASSAGE,HOPI-EAR-CANDLES,STRESS MANAGEMENT,NUTRITION,EXERCISE FOR STRESS).SHE IS ALSO CURRENTLY STUDYING FOR 2 DIPLOMAS IN AURICULOTHERAPY AND IRIDOLOGY.WORK OF COURSE IS A CONCERN FOR ALL OF US WHEN WE MOVE,BUT TBH HAS ALWAYS WANTED TO START HER OWN BUSINESS AND WITH A NEW LIFE AHEAD OF US IN AUS, I THINK THIS WOULD BE A IDEAL OPPOTUNITY FOR HER.WOULD GOING ON HER OWN IN THIS TYPE OF WORK BE FINANCIALLY REWARDING, OR WOULD SHE BE MAKING A MISTAKE:eek: (WE LOOKING AT MOVING TO MELBOURNE IF ALL GOES TO PLAN)

All depends on how much money you are bringing with you. I'm currently setting up a business and obviously it is slow at first. If we were paying a mortgage and car loan we would be struggling (ie broke).
Otherwise I'd say go for it. Far nicer than working for someone and the only way you'll make a decent living in Australia.

Have a look at the Victoria gov website, it's very likely you'll need stacks of licences - they love red tape here :-((

If you have decided, go for it. Initially 6 months, I would suggest work for someone, get the feel of it...Even when you trying for a job, you can try get some clients..by some advertising, maybe distributing advertising leaflet... design a decent website..
I work for myself for last 9 months and initially it would be rather difficult but eventually you will be able to cover your rent and other expenses:thumbup:
then u go from there..

Hi Stuck,

A low risk option would be to rent a room in a health club. Overheads would be limited and she would have an immediate client base. It's a shame you guys are not here now, as it's a service I am considering introducing in my club (700 females).

Nothing ventured nothing gained - Go for it.

Good luck.

Colin
