Default working on a working holiday visa?

Can anyone give me some info i am going to oz in jan 2004 and i have a trade as a pipefitter there are or maybe jobs over there in which i might wish to work on or find in my trade.

But what i was wondering as i am going over in a working holiday visa am i allowed to work in my trade if i get offered work or can i only do other jobs like whats offered when on working visas like fruit picking etc etc.

i have been told by some work mates that i probably could not work in my trade as a pipefitter over there as i maybe need a licence or something but im sure there wrong.

can anyone tell me different?

Our friend went on the same visa and worked as an auto-sparks with no problems. I think the only snag was it was only for a maximum of 3 months per employer. Not a problem if your travelling around though. I'd check out some of the agencies in Aus drop them a copy of your CV and your arrival date and see if you get any takers.
