It appears you have to be between 18 and 30 years of age to get one, im 39 does anyone know if theres another way around this?

That's for the Working Holiday Visa - no, no way round that unfortunately. You could look into other visas that allow you to work - you may be able to find a sponsor or apply independently - depending on your skills and experience.
