I'm not in Oz but have done what you're talking about .... given up my career, been a sahm for 4 years and now want to work part time around the kids.

I work for a yacht charter company in Customer services at the marina and its great. Finish by 1pm, no weekends, no holidays, and nice to have NO responsibility!

could you look at any kind of tourism jobs out there? they're usually pretty good with casual workforce. Or maybe do the Sage bookkeeping course online and do bookkeeping for small companies - I know someone in Oz who does that in the weekday mornings, works from home and has the afternoons off.
