Default Working in Melbourne

Hi Peeps

Jobs seem to be the in subject at the moment and hubby keeps worrying about work in aus.

For those in Melbourne......
How easy/difficult is it to get a job?

Please let me know of your thoughts and experiences.

Thanks

Depends what field you are looking at

Look at http://www.mycareer.com.au

see if there is anything there relevant

It's a bit slow at the moment not sure why, has been for a few months.

Hubby is a electro/mechanical engineer.

But with no mortgage over there I told him he could do anything he wants. I even suggested that he stays at home and I,ll work as Im an aus citizen I may get work quicker. He said NO.

Cheers

Both! You can't have a life style without a job unless your loaded and we are not. We are not skint but £60,000 will not last forever!

And I am a little young for retirement though I wish and I can't afford to not have a job.

I'm not a dole bludger in the UK and certainly do not want that in Oz!

joh this country is full of jobs ,they will not be the job you want ,in the position ,you want ,in the suburb you want , at the pay scale you want, but you will get a job , and then you will eventually understand how this country works , only then will you get the job you truly desire........ MM

I am not bothered what job I get as I never planned to work on the Railway in the UK. It is good money and it is a trap that while in the UK I can't get away from.

I see Oz as a new start and I am willing to do anything jobwise without a huge mortgage the pressure is off having a big salary and a career.

I obviously read your post wrong as I thought you implied job as any job. I definately do not want to do what I do in the UK though I think it will be hard as it is specialised to the UK rail industry

No probs! You watch it though I will find a great job and then I will find myself pregnant and giving up work (as long as hubby has a job!)

MM Are you based in Melbourne?
