Cool Working in Local Government

As a Local Government Accountant in England, my wife is wanting to 'chat' to similar in Australia for basic info on working in Australian government - Does Local Government offices sponsor migrants? Do Local Goverment offices employ migrants?

Can anyone help?

Not directly helpful maybe - but if your wife is a member of ICAEW/ACCA or similar she can get very good advice and support from the relevant Australian equivalent body.

I am ACCA and the ICAA are particularly helpful - they automatically register you for their website and regular newsletters etc.

Might be worth contacting them if she hasn't already done so.

I worked as a temp for the NSW Supply Service and they do employ permanent residents that have migrated to Australia. For more info go to
