working holiday visa and tax???????????

I am coming over on a 12m working holiday visa and looking into the possibility of staying for good.

I have heard a few mixed reports about tax paying on this visa that the rate is very high

can anyone confirm the case and if there is anythin you can do to avoid this or claim it back
