Melb. or Sydney are your best bet.

Sydney is dearer re buying a property and is a diff lifestyle to Melb.

for wages see http://www.wages.com.au/html/surveys.html and http://www.michaelpage.com.au/contro...ubsectionid=69

Agree, Melb or Sydney.

My wife is an accountant (and an Aussie), and she reckons she will be on about 55 to 60 thousand. She has about 2 yrs post qual experience, but does have an Aus CPA. When she was last there working as a part qualified she was on 45 thousand.

Don't forget you will need to get your qualification re-certified (depending on what qual u have over here - its different for CIMA ACCA AAT etc.)

Cheers

Pete.
