I am hoping to migrate to Oz next year - and really like the sound of Adelaide as I have a young family and do not want to live in a huge city.
We are both IT workers (traditional, not web designers) with lots of analysis/ programming/testing experience.

I have been told that prospects for IT workers in Adelaide are grim (and a browse through the vacancies seems to confirm this.) But we're a year off moving - and the market may change.

My husband or myself will have to find a job to survive - but which occupations are best for Adelaide? Is there a market for teaching english as a foreign language there?

What about practical jobs (painting, decorating, plumbing etc?)

Any positive comments would be gratefully received!
