Work Strategy-OZ???

Can anyone perhaps comment on the most pragmatic way to find work in Australia ?

I have over 13 years of experience as a IT Business Analyst and System consultant in the Investment Banking and Financial Services sectors.

Is their any good reputable agencies in Australia that are very good in finding work for those who require sponsorship and have good channels of comm with good employers.....

Somewhere in Melbourne or Sydney would be nice. Perhaps some may know about other good hotspots for IT perm or contract project work in Australia ?

Is anyone able to comment about the level of maturity Technology in OZ, in the Banking or Financial services sectors in comparison to the UK market.

:)cheers

Hi, I work for IBM in Melbourne. Financial services are split about 50/50 between Melbourne and Sydney. There's gazillions of recruiters, I reckon the job is more important, so have a look on seek.com. Be aware that in your sector sponsorship may be hard as there are a lot of candidates here already and available.

Would agree with the above. There appears to be enough work around to keep things ticking. Someone with your experience would no doubt be very well received and you would not be waiting long for a job if you arrived here but doubtful there are many roles looking to recruit from abroad. Not for a BA.

Is sponsorship your only option.

Agree with above, unless you have already had to rule it out for some reason, getting the visa first would make more sense.

Although im not in IT, i do know quite a few people and from what i understand the market for technical BA's is still quite strong, particularly in the financial services industry. Plenty of technology projects going on all the time.
