Default work, play and life in queensland

Hi all hope everyones ok just need a bit of input from all of you who are somewhere in queensland. We have lived in Perth now for over 2 years and due to interest rates and tax bills and work slowing we are thinking of selling up and moving over to the other side. Im a plasterer /carpenter/bit of everything really and my wifes a hairdresser. We were wondering if anyone could tell us how much work there is and how much trades earn. And what areas are nice and which ones to avoid we were thinking of perhaps the goldcoast or that sort of area. We have a 11 month old boy and hoping there's a lot more to do there than there is in Perth!!.... Would anyone recommend the move or not?
Thanks hope you can help?
