Default Wol's house built

"Wol's house built" - no, not a typo! We will be taking possession this Friday and moving in over the next couple of weeks.

Still got the window problems, and since it's been raining heavily and almost continuously during June the place is a quagmire. We have had to have an exemption for a month on the BASIX bore requirement since the ground's so sticky that no-one can even think about trenching or landscaping!

Still, it will be nice to get into a warm place at last - the new house is warmer with the heating off than our rental with it on all day. Insulation lives!

We've just received the final builder's account: would you believe that the cost of the house is just $1500 over our estimated budget 15 months' ago before we even met him!

Now if they had me doing the budget for the millenium dome, the concorde or the London olympics..........
