Default witness to stat dec/affidavit

Hi there,

I have got to do an affidavit/stat dec for the TRA part.

Who must/can witness and sign my affidavit/stat dec in order for it to be legal/recognised ect.

Is a lawyer the only acceptable person for this procedure,

and what do they call doing this procedure here in the UK.(just so I know what to ask them when I phone some up to get quotes and they will know exactly what Im on about).
thanks all.
