Nah, they don't have electric in Australia yet ;-)
Try doing a search - this is one of those questions that gets asked once a week.

Good luck!

Hi,

Your DVD players will work fine in Australia, as they use the same voltage as in the UK (230/240v).

Whether they play any DVD's you pick up in Australia, which is region 4, as opposed to region 2 in the UK will depend largely on whether your DVD player is MultiRegion or not. If it isn't, pop along to http://www.dvdcodes.net/ and see if you are able to "unlock" your DVD to multiregion.

Once you've unlocked it, you'll be able to play and DVD disks purchased anywhere in the world!

Hope this helps!

Same wattage just need to change plugs - but I am not sure if DVDs you buy there will work in your player...

You will find that most Region 4 DVDs will play in a Region 2 player and vice versa. I think it is just cheaper for them to print one copy of the PAL DVD and then stick a different label on it depending on whether it is going to Australia or the UK

So long as you put the discs in with the shiny side up they should work down under.
