Yes thank you mate for stating the obvious
But how could making ice of all things, then shipping it all the way round the world at sub-zero temperatures, be cheaper than making it here.
I mean it's ice, not plastic accessories for barbie dolls.

If it were, and then packaged here, they are legal able to say 'Aussie made' Bit of a head scratcher that, Buzzy. I'm sure Vash will explain later

Actually it's a little more complex than that:
Made in Australia – what does it mean?
Made in Australia means a product is substantially transformed in Australia and at least 50% of the cost of production has been incurred in Australia.
Product of Australia – what does it mean?
Product of Australia Logo Product of Australia means that all of a product’s significant ingredients come from Australia, and all or virtually all of the manufacturing or processing is also carried out in Australia.
Australian Grown – what does it mean?
Australian Grown means that each significant ingredient has been grown in Australia, and that all or virtually all of the processes involved in the production of the good have occurred in Australia.

[QUOTE=melbournegirl;6421115]Australians actually call them 'icy poles' so it is appropriate they come from Poland.
Strange though - I have never seen Polish icy poles before.[/QUOTE
Ice Poles is the actual name of one 'ice lolly'. It may be being used as a generic term like Doona or Hoover. I sell the stuff in the tuckshop, everyone here asks for an ice block or the particular name.
Who would have thought you could babble on for ages about ice blocks

It must be a Victorian thing then as we know them as icy poles here. There are different names for the same thing in some states. For example, in Victoria we call swimsuits 'bathers' and in NSW they call them 'swimmers'.
