Angry Why is it taking so long?

Hi everyone!

Don't we know just how frustrating the wait is? We applied on 2 May 2001 and we are told that our application has 'been looked at'. What does this mean please? We haven't been told anything else other than this! We hear of other people who have been accepted through London and it has taken less time than us! Initially we were told 9 months and it is now 17! PLEAAAAAASSSSEEEEEEE can someone shed some light for us and at least give us some hope????

Good luck to all of you and congratulations to those of you have your passports stamped!

London are supposed to have been processing May 2001 for some while, when/how did they tell you that you 'had been looked at'.

Is yours a Skilled Independant?

1200 outstanding london applications are being sent to Adelaide to be completed. If yours is one of them you'll hear soon by letter. Ours most likely is as we applied Sept 4th 2001.

Best o luck

Hiya!

Thank you very much for replying. Yes ours is a skilled independent and it was our Agent who said that our application was being 'looked at'.

Hopefully, like you say (touch wood, fingers crossed etc), we will hear something soon. If this is a positive we then have to wait ages likely while they process medicals etc. Sorry if I sound like a miserable so and so but there is the odd day when your patience wears thin!!!

We'll continue!!!

Take care and hope that you get a massive positive too!!!

LOL XX

Hi Suse
Yes I know things are taking along time, days like today when it's pouring with rain just make things worse. We have been waiting 15 months so far and patience is wearing thin too. we applied in July 2001 so I expect we will be transfered to Adelaide, just hope this speeds things up abit.
I think it would be a good idea to get loads of people together in the same boat as us. maybe meet up somewhere. Be good to talk to people who know what we are going through.
keep your chin up

Yeah, but today was a cold, drizzle, going straight to the bones. Everything was so grey and dirty and they've forecast more, with gales to go with it.

Any other sort of rain must be wonderful..

Do you know of any other country that processes its immigration applications
any faster? The Australia wait is really is no big deal.

What's that term the Aussies have the English beginning with 'W' and ending
in 'POHM' ?

Yes, Singapore does it much faster.

New Zealand also processes applications faster than Australia, at
least at some NZIS offices (eg London). However, NZ uses the pass
mark to restrain spikes demand while Australia might just let a queue
develop.

Canada is much worse at the moment. They're grappling with the legacy
of a system that went untouched for a number of years with the
requirements too low, and attracting a flood of applications from
people with little chance of a successful settlement outcome there.
Two years from now, Canada's processing times should have dropped as
they clear the outstanding backlog and get onto administering their
new rules in full. Until then it's a mess

As for the US immigration system it's an even bigger mess than
Canada's and there's zero chance of it being sorted out at any point
in the forseeable future.

Hello everyone again and thank you for all your comments. Like I said, some days are worse than others but I definitely reckon that we should get together and have a MASSIVE good celebration...............
