why can I not get info on a job?
I emailed an agency to enquire about the general details of a post they had advertised.
I only wanted basic information such as where is it? What is the salary?
I just got in off a night shift to an email saying they can't give me any details at all unless I forward them my CV???
What's that about? I dont really want to give my details to an agency and have them bombarding me with info I dont need. I also dont want to apply for a job if its not suitable. Has anybody else come across this? I find it very odd.

1) They don't want you to approach the employer directly.
or
2) It's not a real job, they just want your CV

Employment agencies can get themselves into trouble if they advertise jobs that are not real. More likely, they don't want you to approach the company directly or it could be that they want to be sure you are suitable before giving you information. We have people phoning/emailing all the time wanting particulars about positions but if they are not registered clients with our agency then they don't get the info. How are we to know they are not the competitors ringing to gather info on our clients?
