Why is Australia the most popular spot for expats?
I'm really curious. Why not Canada? Is it because Canada is too cold? Any other reasons?
The only downside of Canada is weather.

What about the cost of living?
I'm not sure about the price of living necessities but many "luxury goods" appear to be insanely expensive.
For example, an average new XBOX 360 video game release is about $100 AU which equals to $103 CAD on today's exchange rate. The same game retails at $60 in Canada.
I see similar pricing schemes for luxury automobiles like Mercedes Benz, Porsche, and etc. The drive-away price of a Mercedes Benz E550 is about $80,000 in Canada. In Australia, it is $191,851.00.
Does the salary in Australia offset these extra cost?

The only other country I have considered moving to was Ireland. So it aint about the weather for me.
I was about as likely to move to Canada as Cambodia.
