Why Australia?

Why Australia?
Thought this might make an interesting thread.
Why did you lot pick Australia (or NZ for all you future pig islanders ) as your destination?
I'll start you off.
I had no choice !!!! The wife is an aussie, and she dearly wanted to head homeward. Aus had a better potential for my particular line of work (geology), and i like hot weather, so i agreed. Seemed like an all round good deal for me. Will miss UK greatly though, as i do love the place. Will also find it hard moving from family friends etc, but hey.....a change is good and all.

To answer you PeteY,

1) The Climate.
2) The quality of life.
3) The chance for our children to be able to afford a house when they eventually fly the nest.
4) The adventure.
5) The feeling that the UK was slowly going down the pan.
Cheers.
