I am home but my sympathies if you're in a place you don't want to be. Have you looked on MB to see if there are any other Perthites also struggling (personally I don't think it's a good idea to mix with people as down as yourself as I think it drags you down further) but I know it helps some people.

Find a hobby. Apparently swimming with big white sharks is popular in Perth.

Im in Sydney, but I always want to go home when its winter here! esp watching everyone smiling at sunny Wimbledon...
How long have you been here? nearly 4 years for me, and still not sure!

If after 4 years you're still unsure, then don't you think you'll never ever feel at home here??
I have been here 7 months now, and after my first update (3 months into Sydney) I remember wanting to go back home...so badly! Really was homesick
4 months later, I am now settled, my family's settled and we do like it here.
It's still doesn't feel like home yet and but it's getting closer to being one...
To OP:
Give it time. Don't despair or give in. Make a diary of things you want to do while here and make an effort to do them. Cross them off your list once done. This is an adventure of a lifetime and take it as such.
Hung in there, years from now you will look back on these moments with great pride and satisfaction, because you hang in here!
Do wish you good luck.

There is going to be a meet up in King's Park in early September. Why not come out to meet some people there? If you don't want to wait that long why not organise a meet or your own? There are groups of women who meet for lunch regularly and the meets I've gone to are all really friendly and welcoming.
As someone else said, though, I wouldn't go out of your way looking for others who are miserable. Find some folks who are happy and they can show you what it is that makes them feel that way.

Absolutely - there are quite a few of us in MBTTUK. 30 years, 3 months and 3 days and counting.
