Who to use for shipping??
Hi all,
We got our visa through a couple of days ago and we are putting the house on the market now. As we are hoping not to be here too much longer, I wanted to start looking at who to use for shipping. Can anyone advise which is the best company to use? Also, what do they do for the money? Do they pack or you? Many thanks for any help.

Hi if you do a search on here you will find lots of info. From a personal point of view, we used Crown Relocations. Shipped our stuff from Scotland to Brisbane. They packed everything and assisted us to unpack at the other end. We had an excellent service. Good luck.

Re: Who to use for shipping??
We had all of our furniture packed up last week and we used Sterling Relocation, very informative prior to the move and did excellent job packing all of our furniture.
They disassembled all of your furniture for us, beds, cots and table etc, and then reassemble it all at the other end. They also unpack all of the boxes into their designated rooms for you to put into cupboards and then they take all of the cardboard boxes away for recycling.
Good luck with your move.

Thanks for your comments. Can I ask how much you paid and what size of container did you need? Thanks Sam

Re: Who to use for shipping??
Hi,
We had 20ft Container and used about 80% of that. To give you an idea on amount of stuff we shipped, we have a three bedroom detached house and 2 children, one aged 2 years and the other 2 Mths.
Sterling Relocation are quite expensive due to the quality of service that they provide, disassembly the quality of packaging etc. Plus we have heard bad stories about other companies that we did not want to take the risk.
The 80% of the container cost us £3995, plus Insurance. The container is also sealed at the house to prove that the container is dedicated to your shipment, this makes it a lot easier for dealing with Australian Customs.
Hope this helps

Thanks for the advice. It is really helpful to have an idea of the size of container we need as I have no idea!!! I will definitely contact Sterling for a quote as you seem very pleased with them - always a good sign. Thanks again. Sam

Re: Who to use for shipping??
We used anglo pacific. 3200GBP +aus customs + insurance for a 20ft container. We shipped contents of a 4 bed house and still had a little bit room left!
This was for the full packing and unpacking service. Excellent service this end, so far so good!
Hope this helps

Check out the advantages, etc of having a full container to yourself... It's well worth it...

I've just shipped some stuff with www.migrateglobal.com - excellent service, and they went to great lengths to sort out problems caused by the wazzucks at the Aussie end.

Turkey,
Our quote was for a standard container and we had a bit of room left.
