Hi

Is it just the sponsored person who needs the medical/xray or is it anyone over 11? Been reading conflicting advice!

All people on the application over 11 will need an x-ray.

We have just come over on a 457 and we all had to go through the process (even my boys who were 8 & 10). They didn't have to have the xrays tho. It may be different but my employer recommended that we had full meds and xrays as they intended to make my visa permanent in a short space of time

kids had very brief medicals and we had xrays.

My husband only had a chest x-ray.
I, as a nurse, had a chest x ray, blood tests for Hep B and HIV as did my 16 year old as a student and we both had full medicals

We have just done the medicals for subclass 457 visa this week:

All applicants over 11 have to have X-ray.

If children under 11 they will need a medical instead.

Medicals are not required UNLESS any applicant will be attending school either as student or if a teacher, lecturer, nursery etc. OR if children under 11 or pregnant women who can't be x-rayed.

Also if any applicant will be working in any health related environment.

If you do need a medical, you may not require blood tests.

HIV and hepatitis required for any health professionals

Any applicant with body piercings or tattoos will require a hepatitis B blood test.
