Visa was granted end of June and we have left it a bit to get house on market only cause we thought job market was pretty rubbish - as it is been getting some good feedback from companies out there - so now we are quite desperate to sell like most of the people on this thread.

Can I just ask Janna and Nick - you say "Either way, we're out of here on the 3rd June 2010. Flights have been booked and it's a date for us to work towards" does that mean you will go even though you don't sell? And if you don't sell what do you plan to do - will you rent??? Hope you don't mind me asking - Just curious???
Yeah, we'll go even if we don't sell. We'll rent it out. As we've got family here they can look after things for us. Although I have to say that I want to sell before we go so that would be the best case scenario.

We're just working on getting things finalised here (bits of painting and touching up to do) then house can go on the market.

Have flown the A380 four times now, the top deck in economy is the back of the plane, fine if you only want two seats together but not so good on a bumpy flight. Prefer the lower deck over the wings for comfort. They have now upgraded the seats in the A330 to Brisbane to the same as the A380 including films on demand.

If they did an adult only flight that would be the bee's knees.

Just wanted to share the good news - We've exchanged contracts and are moving out next week!! We'll have a couple of months here to sort out everything (sale of cars, hand notice in at work etc etc), then all being well we'll be off straight after Christmas. Despite the LONG wait for this to happen, husband is a little shell shocked to say the least. But, he's got a couple of months more to get used to it all.

I suppose the cloud on this silver lining is that your £ won't go very far in Australia now and the long term forecast looks even worse.

Yeah Bit of a b*gger that one. So, we're going to take enough money to see us over the first few months and leave the rest in a high interest account here. Well, that's the thinking at the moment - we need to speak to some currency experts first and get their take on things, then take if from there. Can't believe how much the pound has weakened over the last few months.

Congratulations mate! I know how you feel (and it's a great feeling) because we just exchanged contracts ourselves yesterday... The dream is now becoming a reality.
We fly out in January to Brisbane, and can't wait. We will be staying with mates until we get a rental which is great. My wife and I are in Nursing/Health so we plan just to do agency. I've done 24hr on calls, weekends, nights.. the lot back here in the UK for donkeys years. Hopefully, no more of that. It's time to unwind a and do what I waited and came here for.. to enjoy the lifestyle and chill! (although I'll still have to work mon-fri)

Good luck to all waiting with houses to sell. Things do seem to be picking up looking at the number of houses sold in our neighbourhood. I hope that SOLD sign is on yours soon, and you too are heading for the destination of your dreams

Well we finally exchange contracts tomorrow after 6 long months of waiting for this to happen (and nearly 3 years on the market)

Move out 6th November and off to SE Queensland in the New Year, OMG it is finally happening

Good luck to all those who are still waiting, it will happen eventually.

We aren't cutting fine honest, hubby's visa only runs out in Feb 2010
