Default Who Cares?

Who cares if England was hotter than Brazil last monday? Who cares if Perth has 2mm more rain than Scunthorpe next Wednesday?

We all know how lame the British summer is!

I'm surprised its still classed as a season. Besides, its never here long enough for most British people to appreciate. Hence the mad rushes to the seaside, bumper to bumper traffic jams and sunburn't faces. Its so amateur its almost comical.

Problem is I'm part of it!

Aha! I seem to remember a reasonably good summer in 1976.

Caught you out there, young Alborg, didn't I?

Maske sure of your facts next time, please, young man.

Cheers - Don

Which one we now have PB and P_B both using the same notation on their sign in message does he think he don't notice or is he fed up with the fact that so many of us ignore him and he doesn't get much of a rise anymore?

'76 .... I'd forgotton that one - I was working a summer season in a hotel in Eastbourne, beach parties and a plague of ladybirds if I remember rightly. Good time had by all.

I was ten and remember stirring the tarmac with lolly pop sticks.

We were on a beach in Canvey Island (sad I know) and being bitten alive by those ladybirds. There was an excellent summer in 1945/46

I was on holiday with relations in Poole and we were on the beach at Sandbanks, I remember the water was thick with all the dead little critters, they did seem to bite and my sister and I stayed in the water all day to keep out of their way.
I remember 1977 was a long summer as well but we've not had to many since.

You might not get brilliant summers, but when it is nice you do get the long summer evenings when you can sit outside until 10pm or so some evenings. Something to enjoy this year for those soon to leave for Oz.

Sorry, that's the only good thing I can think of about British summers!

Yeah we cannot get over how early it gets dark here in perth , thats in the summer , not the winter , by about 8 its dark . But then i suppose we have gorgeous days to compensate that. Its actually raining tonight and feels very cold we have the fire on !! But the rain is well needed have to say . Joanne and Paul

Ah, but only for a few weeks.

England, the only country I know, that gets all four seasons in one week!
