We booked just after Christmas with Cathay Pacific and got a REALLY good deal for June so might be worth having a look?

The days of GBP600 returns are back though!
As natalieml mentioned, Cathay have some great fares at the moment, I'm sure other airlines will too.

AirAsia do budget flights out of Stansted to KL (and from KL to Coolangata on Gold Coast) - but really for little more than $100 more you can get a flight with a 'proper ' airline and get better seats, in flight entertainment options, food, reliable timetables and a quick transit stop instead of a 22 hour layover. So is it really worth scratching around for the cheap stuff?

We went from Manchester to Sydney in October with Etihad and they were brilliant, stopped over at Abu Dhabi and there were loads of spare seats on the 14 hour second leg of the journey so we got extra seats to spread across. We got a really good price too but that was back in August when we booked them and not looked recently tbh. There was plenty of food and the staff were fantastic, they couldn't do enough for you. Also heard that Emirates and Singapore are very good too

Most people seem to go with Emirates, Singapore or Malaysia and between them there are many good reports though Emirates very often come out top. We however were stupid enough to go with BA (or Bloody Awful as they are know) and would strongly advise not to go with them. Have done so 8 times now and never cease to be disappointed (at least they are consistent!)

Is it unrealistic to expect flights in September for less than £800? I've had a rummage around on t'interweb and the cheapest I can find are £797 with Cathay.
any advice gratefully received!!

We booked using an offer through movingplanet.net which meant that all 3 of us get a 50kg baggage allowance! Don't quite know what we'll pack in our suitcases to add up to 150kg of stuff...
Have heard very good things about Emirates, the only people who seem to be disappointed are the 1st Class/Business customers and that's definately not us

We went with Singapore airlines in Nov, very good would recommend, stopped over at Sentosa Island, also recommend. Very good with kids if you have any! Booked direct through their website, they were the best price at the time
