Where to stay in Brisbane .....If I can sell the house?
 

Hi there,

Asked many questions before about living in Brisbane and now by the looks of things it may become a reality pretty soon.

I've been offered a job at Griffith University at their Nathan Campus. Can anyone tell me what it's like living in areas around there. Hubby is a Haemodialysis nurse so any hospitals that deal with this would be useful.

Ginny, I have no idea what a haemodialysis nurse does (dialysis of blood is my guess, but I have been known to be wrong - just once ;) & I still dont actually know what it is ) but QE2 hospital is directly across the road from Griffith. If not there I would look at Greenslopes Hospital or possibly the Mater as all are on the southside & not too far from Nathan.

As for places to live - it depends on your budget & whether you are looking to rent or buy. I would suggest places like Salisbury, Moorooka, Sherwood, Graceville, Greenslopes & Holland Park (not West). These suburbs are between Nathan & the Mater & Greenslopes, so would suit working at either

If you want row upon row of new housing in endless estates you could look at Calamvale/Stretton area. This area is south of Nathan, so would be a further commute if your hubby needed to work at Mater or Greenslopes.

Thanks MrsD. Will get looking at those areas. Hubby works with people who's kidneys don't work and they need their blood filtered.

Ginny I doubt that the QE2 would do that stuff, its probably too small, best to check out the Mater & also the PA (Princess Alexandra), 2 of the 3 largest hospitals in Brisbane.

Heres a link for the PA http://www.health.qld.gov.au/wwwprofiles/pah_hsd.asp , Moorooka & that area is half way between Griffith & the PA (about 5kms from each).
