Where to live in Sydney?

Hey,

I am a 22 year old male from London. I will be moving out to Sydney to start a new job in September.

As I won't know anyone I am keen to move to young, vibrant and friendly suburb that willl give me the best chance of meeting new people and making friends. Preferably I would like to be close to the beach and to good nightlife.

Does anybody have any suggestions of good places?

Cheers in advance!

Hi Gav,

Similarly we are moving out in September too. Spent a year in Sydney a while back and always wanted to go back.

In terms of where to live, it depends where you are working?

North shore beaches like Manly are very popular and you can get the ferry over to CBD if you are working there. Also there is Cremorne, Mosman but they are a bit more for families.

The Eastern beaches are cool too, if not a little full of backpackers! Bondi, Coogee being the chief suspects.

You could live Bondi Junction, which is equi-distant between the beaches and the city?

We are going for Potts Point/Darlinghurst/Paddington. These areas are fun, young and vibrant. They arent next to the beach, but its not too far by car or on the bus. It also means you are near the city for socialising too ?

:)
