Where to live in Aussie????

Hi...Application was lodged in April 2008 and so now we are doing research/planning for the big move, but we are totally baffled!! Hubby has a job offer just come in from Melbourne (but we had not even considered here), Brisbane sounds nice (hubby been there before) and Adelaide gives us another option...but the beach loving part of the family like the sound of the Gold Coast...but everyone says it is like a UK Seaside resort but with better temperatures...yikes I am so confused!!! We have 2 kids (aged 10 & 13) and we have applied for a 175 indep. and hubby has had his Carpentry skills OK'd by Vetassess - He wants to go where the work is good obviously, but where the family will get lots out of life too. We thought we had it all sorted out in our minds, but the more we research the more we doubt where we actually want to go!!!

Can anyone help or give some advice???
Thannx

I would say go to Melbourne, because the hubby has a job offer there. Without an income your emigration will be very hard.

Melbourne has a fantastic lifestyle which is far more varied than many other parts of Oz. It has a big vibrant city, among the best beaches in Australia, mountains, stunning countryside. It has cooler winters than many parts of Australia, although much hotter summers, so you get the seasons.

Adelaide has a fantastic lifestyle which is far more varied than many other parts of Oz. It has a medium vibrant city, among the best beaches in Australia, mountains, stunning countryside. It has milder winters than many parts of Australia, although much hotter summers, so you get the seasons.

It has to be Melbourne:thumbsup: Plus if your hubby has a job to walk in to it will make the move a lot less stressful for you all. The kids will love Melbourne.

Don't worry, at least you have a choice to make and whichever you choose you can't go wrong. We narrowed it down to Brisbane, Perth or Melbourne and in the end chose Melbourne. Do we regret it...No not one bit:thumbup:

Perth would be my choice but it does have a 'we don't want change mentality' that means for many people it's a bit too bland.

Melbourne is a beautiful place with lots on offer and is far more cosmopolitan than Perth, my only gripe with the place was the 'four seasons in one day' element.

Brisbane is a great city but I couldn't stand the climate, too much humidity with the heat, making it too uncomfortable.

The stability of having a job to go to immediately would be the sway factor for me.

Don't come to Australia at all as it is a hot and dry country :p.
But maybe you would be okay in Tasmania .
