This has got me thinking about holidays now.

Mini starts school this year, so we're trying to keep to the school holidays where possible. So for July, we want somewhere warmer than here (Perth), short flight only (husband travels a lot for work and gets sick of flying), been loads of places in Asia, so I was thinking maybe fly to Brisbane and head up to Noosa and Sunshine Coast.

Any suggestions?

Noosa is a little overated IMO. We've holidayed up there a few times over the years, and this year we spent xmas at Alexander Headland, which is halfway between Mooloolaba and Maroochydore onthe Sunshine Coast and found it more appealing and far less tourists than you'll find in Noosa

Yeah, thought about that as short, direct flights. But we've already been there, plus fancy hiring a camper van and driving up when Mini's older.

So holiday booked and we leave on Monday.
Thanks for all your comments, and suggestions, enjoyed reading them, especially the ones implying a maybe a sex tourist, still makes me smile!!!!
Decided to go to Bangkok for 4 nights first. Always wanted to experience this city, both for the culture, food and nightlife. Son not coming now, obiously not cool enough!!!!!
Then onto Phuket for 10 days to stay with a firend who lives there and has sold the idea to us.
IF we dont like it, then next year we will try somewhere else, easy.
Having travelled quite alot, we have never gone for `safe` holiday places, so this holiday will be interesting.
Read up on all the current scams etc.... so just hoping we are prepared.
Excited and a little apprehensive, but looking forward to it.
Just hoping the son doesnt burn the house down while we are away lol
