Where are the Diesel Fitter jobs?

Hello guys

Not been on here for a really long time. We are in Tassie at the moment, OH is currently a Diesel Fitter in the Timber Industry. But it seems the Tassie Govnt are winding the industry down and we aren't sure how long he has a job for.

We would love to know where in Aus are Diesel Fitters in demand? It looks as though we are gonna have to kiss Tassie goodbye, unfortunately, and haul our butts interstate. :sneaky:

There are lots of jobs for diesel fitters on www.seek.com.au, although a lot of them specify underground diesel fitters. Mining areas in WA and QLD look to have the most jobs.

We (recruitment agency) need stacks of Diesel Fitters in WA. It's not my specialist area, but if you want some more info just PM me and I'll get someone to contact you.

Diesel fitters are wanted in WA, a lot of the jobs are fly in fly out, which if you are prepared to do it the pay should be good. A word of caution though, do not turn up on spec to a NW town, without accommodation, what little there is is very expensive, eg $1500 per week for a 3x1 in Port Hedland. Do not let this put you off most employers provide accommodation for you.
Good Luck, if you need any more advice please feel free to pm me
Ken
