Hi,
I m looking for complete detail of tax any idea?

I belief if I m posting this question in Australian category it should be for Australia

I m looking for income tax and capital gains

Not necessarily

Start with the ATO website.

Some people feel the Paul Clitheroe is a bit of a guru - his books can be borrowed from the library.

The CCH Australian Master Tax Guide 2009 is the number one tax reference guide for Tax practitioners.

Riveting reading isn't it.... Have a copy of the 1989 Taxation Legislation (all three 75mm thick volumes) somewhere at mum's place....
Guaranteed to keep you awake for, oh five seconds flat!!!

I think that may have been the last one I read, not sure if I saw the 1990 one or not ...

Had to buy it for a course at TAFE...never used them since.

It was my daily reading back in those days when I was an accountant, I didn't really know what I was doing, so I had to read up all the time. Now I do know, I no longer do it for a living
