Hi….

Recently relocated to Sydney from NZ and will be looking to replace some of our large electrical items that we didn’t ship over. So, Where’s the best place to buy large electric appliances ie fridge freezer, washing machine etc in Sydney.? Coming from NZ there are so many more choices of where to shop here! We’ve looked at Harvey Norman, Bing Lee, but just wondered what the general consensus might be.!

Have a look at Good Guys, but check reviews for individual stores as some are way better than others.

You can also check out Appliances Online.

Plus when you find an appliance that you want to buy, Google to see who has it cheaper, and try and to price match it. Always save/print the cheaper offer to show the store you're going to actually buy it from, you've nothing to lose in doing so 😉

Costco. Best prices, better return policy. Nowhere else comes close.

They are often not very competitive on price. They are good for TVs though

The place I've bought the most appliances is The Good Guys. JB HiFi can also now be pretty competitive. Appliances Online also pretty good
I've never shopped at Harvey Norman and never will - mainly because Gerry is an asshole

Edit: If you have access to The Good Guys Commercial - I do via my super fund - you can get some really good deals

Nearly always cheaper but their return policy is unmatched by anybody. Great when you can return stuff years later without a receipt.

They sometimes have really good deals but their normal pricing is generally uncompetitive - and the choice on offer is very limited. You can negotiate hard at TGG, Retravision, JB etc to get a good deal

Just done the rounds looking for a Philips XXL Air Fryer. GG best at $499, Costco $419. Not even close.
