Default where are the best places to Live in Australia?

What do I mean by best?

Well -good climate, lots of work, good schools, good lifestyle, moderately priced housing where you can have a decent sized piece of land to live on,good beaches.

We're currently thinking of Brisbane,Sydney(not so cheap) and Adelaide, Cairns sounds wonderful but not seen the right sort of job there yet.

The problem is you may have to compromise on these things. It's going to be hard to find _all_ of them in one place.

Melbourne, Perth, Hobart and Canberra will all give you _some_ of the above (but a different mix in each place).

Are you a New Zealander or a recent migrant there? If the latter, why are you planning to leave NZ and you should plan to get at least an indefinite returning resident visa if you can't get NZ citizenship.

We're recent migrants from the UK,although New Zealand has many fine qualities it hasn't met our expectations:too limiting in career and salary terms and disproprtionately expensive. We are thinking about putting in EOIs because we have more than the current points total of 100.Australia may not have all that we're are looking for but there seems to be more opportunities there and more locations to choose from.

I'm a little confused when you say that you're in NZ, wanting to go to Australia and talk about putting in EOIs - the EOI is part of the NZ migration system, not the Australian system.

If you do want to go to Australia then you need to see if you qualify under Australia's rules - if the answer is no, then you need to wait until after you become NZ citizens before you can even think about Australia.

Sorry, didn't make that very clear You asked if we were going to get indefinate returning residents visa? well, yes we are thinking about putting in our EOIs for NZ residency. We have well over the 100 points and we could probably get PR through in a few months.

In the meantime we will also look for jobs in Australia and apply for visas if we get anywhere with that.
