Purely my opinions...

Perth is a bit too isolated, but its an ok city with good weather.

Adelaide is very nice, good weather, gets a bit hot in the summer. Good size for a city in my opinion, not too big.

Melbourne is the coolest of the main cities (excl Taz). Very nice though, and is our second choice of an inital place to settle. A fair bit bigger than adelaide (3miln).

Sydney is'nt bad either, just a bit too "metropolitan" for us.

Were going to Brisbane initally. Warm in the summer (pretty hot actually, but a bit cooler than adelaide summers). Can get very humid. Pretty small city (pop about 1m). Eventually we hope to settle in townsville as we prefer the tropical climate, and don't really enjoy city living.

Cheers

Pete.

Totally agree, but the budget won't run to it.

Anywhere within 15kms of Circular Quay, with a few exceptions would get my vote if money was no object.

Brisbane is a pretty good second choice with easy acces to Sydney via VirginBlue.

I've got agree with Kiwi. As long as you don't end up near Central or Redfern
