I started watching Neighbours 20 ys ago. had a 6 yr break when we were in Singapore. Still watch it. Visited Pin Oak court (Ramsey street) in Melbourne last yr.
Met 'Connor' and 'Stuart' at the OZ & NZ 'toast' w/e in Regents Park last July. (got their autograph and photo taken with Stuart- for my daughter )

we sometimes watch 'Home and away'- walked along Palm beach last yr- where it's filmed, didn't see any filming.

Did Patrick Harvey (Connor) tell you whether he was dead or not?

He didn't look dead

No I didn't ask him. I don't think he had 'disappeared' then.

I was very sorry to see that the girl who played Rebecca Fisher was buried today. 32 years old, dead from breast and other secondary cancers.

I am sure Vash or Ozzidoc will provide the statistics...I read the news australia site and I am quite surprised how many young (celebrities) seem to have cancer or recovered from cancer.

It's actually very surprising as to how much cancer there is out there - ultimately 25% of us will get it....if we include prostate cancer. I think that as a public we are more aware of sexy young media things who become unwell...the media loves these stories.

I wish that I did know the statistics......something like 1 in 9 women will get breast cancer. Rare under 35 yrs old, most common 45-75yrs old.

Risk factors: 1st degree relative who had breast cancer under 40, being overweight, alcohol, smoking, being pregnant/giving birth for the first time over 30 yrs or never.

This site may be of interest, though it's a bit complicated:
